Armond Mastro Obituary

Armond L. Mastro 84, of River Road, Niskayuna passed away peacefully on September 27. He is the son of the late Anthony and Jennie Mastro. Armond is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Joseph Sacco) of Leesburg, VA; son, Scott (Connie) of Katy, TX; and three grandchildren: Gabriela (19), Samuel (17) and Stephanie (14) all of Katy, TX. Other survivors include four brothers and sisters: Arthur of Alhambra, CA, Ronald of LaCanada, CA, Eleanor LaMalfa and Marlene Paccico both of Schenectady, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his long-time partner Jean Craft of Schenectady. Armond grew up in Schenectady and became a New York State Supreme Court Reporter after serving three years in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1949 on the Kenneth D. Bailey (DD/DDR 713). After he retired from the State, he became a school bus driver for the Niskayuna School system, a job that he greatly enjoyed. He had many interests, including ballroom dancing, but he will be most remembered for his ever-present sense of humor and passion for the stock market. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 3rd from 3 PM to 5 PM at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street, Schenectady. Interment will be held privately at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday, November 4th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel Street, Suite 200, Newton, MA, 02458 (or online at www.braintumor.org).
