Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Bonnie McCullough of Waddell, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Isaac and Kelly McCullough of Waddell and Ira McCullough of Waddell. He had one grandchild, Andrew McCullough. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Joe Nealon of Red Oak, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Elva Ruth Miller; and his brother William ‘John’ McCullough. Lee grew up in Aurora, Nebraska and attended high school there. He joined the United States Navy in 1969. After serving three tours of duty in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged in 1971. He wedded to Bonnie Lou Janzen on September 15, 1973 in Henderson, Nebraska. They celebrated life with their sons; Isaac born in 1978, and Ira born in 1981. Lee worked in law enforcement early in his career. After attending Central Community College in Nebraska, Lee entered the biomedical technology field. In 1998, Lee and his family moved to Arizona to pursue a new career goal. Lee worked for Banner Health in Phoenix for seven years, medically retiring in 2007. He was always thinking and creating new inventions. He was occupied by his favorite hobbies: farming, sewing, genealogy, drafting, and mechanical design. He was always building, fixing, or drafting a new project, even to his last days. He enjoyed solving problems and contemplating life’s big mysteries. Enjoying and playing with his first grandson occupied his final year. He will be sorely missed. In accordance to his wishes, there will be no ceremonies.
