Mr. Ronald Lee “Ron” Clark, age 81, of Rattlesnake Ridge, Grayson, Kentucky, was called to sing in the heavenly choir on Thursday morning, February 27, 2020. He was born September 25, 1938, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Clayton “Buck” and Madge Isaacs Clark. Ron was a Christian and a strong man of faith. He was a member of the Wilson Creek Baptist Church. Ron was also a good husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved going to church, singing in the choir, reading and most of all being with Evelyn and his family. Ron loved his country and answered the call in 1955, serving five (5) commissions on the USS Cascade in the United States Navy, earning the Navy Good Conduct Medal issued September 1958. He was also a proud dedicated ambassador of Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where he was known for his professionalism, kindness, and compassion to all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Clark, Earl Clark Sr. and Glen Darrell Clark. Ron leaves behind, to celebrate his life, his wife of 11 years, Evelyn Greenhill Clark; one son, David Lee Clark (Kim); two daughters, Debbie Wilburn (Chris) and Dana Marriner (Willis); two step daughters, Angie Peterson (David) and Janie Messer (David); seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Douglas “Shorty” Clark (Stella); three sisters, Helen Werb, Karen Miles, and Evelyn Peterman (Ron); and two sisters-in-law, Eunice Clark and Nettie Clark. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Wilson Creek Baptist Church in Grayson, Kentucky, with Brother Joed Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Greenup County, Kentucky, with full military honors presented by the Kenova American Legion Post # 93. Friends may visit from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2020, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky 41143. Mr. Clark will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Wilson Creek Baptist Church, 6995 Wilson Creek Road, Grayson, Kentucky 41143. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
