Joan Ann Cobb Martin, 65, of Danville, VA passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 after battling cancer for two years. She was born December 6, 1954 in South Hampton County, VA to the late Lawrence and Ola Mae Cobb. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased a sister, Peggy Hedrick. Joan graduated from Tunstall High School in 1973 and worked as an office manager for Sovah ENT Danville and Sovah Surgical Specialists. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and work family as they brought her much joy. Joan loved going to the beach with her fiancé, Terry Trull. Most of all, Joan found great joy in spending quality time with her grandchildren, they were the love of her life. She is survived by her fiancé, Terry Trull; children, Glen Giles (Teresa), Tina Brower (Jesse), and Ashley Kerr (Troy); grandchildren, Caitlin Giles, Aaron Giles, Tyler Giles, Kylee Brower, Kaden Brower, Maddison Gorrell; sisters, Eunice Griffith and Patty Thomas; brother, Bernard Cobb; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 12 noon at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA. with Rev. Jared Austin officiating. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 11 AM to 12 PM. At other times the family will be at the residence. The family would like to thank all of Joan’s prayer warriors who helped her through her battle.
