Robert "Bob" D. Nieman Cedarburg, Wisconsin Obituary

Robert "Bob" D. Nieman

Robert “Bob” David Nieman, 65, passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2020. A lifelong resident of Cedarburg, WI, Bob was born on June 11, 1954 to the late Audrey and Willard Nieman. Bob was lovingly married to his late wife, Liz (nee Gall), for 30 years. He is survived by his three children: Sammi, Katie, and Jacob, and his two sisters: Carol (John) Thorston and Katherine Rex. Bob will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. As a devoted apple farmer and owner of Nieman Orchards, Bob was known and loved by the community. He was the eighth generation to run the Nieman homestead and adored his time working closely with his family at the “Old Red Barn” and the West Allis Farmers’ Market. Bob enjoyed sharing his extensive knowledge of apples and agriculture with customers and friends. He was excellent at finding the perfect apple for anyone and for any purpose. Bob was always told not to work too hard (despite many warnings from his mother) but if you knew him, you knew just how hard he worked and how dedicated he was to the orchard. Bob’s charismatic personality and witty sense of humor always put a smile on everyone’s face. He placed everyone’s needs before his own and was known for being the nicest man anyone had ever met. He loved vacationing and hiking with his family, listening to Frank Sinatra, and of course, indulging in his famous Manhattans with family and friends. Please join his family to celebrate Bob’s life on Tuesday March 3, 2020. Visitation will run from 3:00 PM-5:45 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 PM. Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg appreciated.
