Elizabeth Owen “Libby” Brooks McMaster, age 89 of 212 Cambridge Dr., Danville passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her home. She was born January 17, 1927 in Nathalie, VA to the late George Edward Owen and the late Virginia Irby Owen. Elizabeth was married to the late Lawrence C. Brooks who predeceased her, then she later married the late Leonard R. McMaster. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but she did work in sales for Belk Leggett downtown Danville and Brown Jewelry Co. Libby was an accomplished seamstress, she made all of the daughter’s clothes as they grew up. She was a friend to everyone and always had a beautiful smile for everyone. Mrs. McMaster is survived by three daughters, Linda Brooks Obye of Danville, Anita Brooks Winner of West Chester, PA and Mary Brooks Profaci (Chris) of Glyndon, MD: a son Lawrence (Larry) C. Brooks, II of Danville: a sister Rebecca Owen Edwards of Dameron, MD: a brother, James Lowell Owen of Lynchburg, VA: seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands she was predeceased by three sisters, Evelyn Owen West, Marion Owen Harwood and Louise Owen and two brothers William Leroy Owen and Herman Wilson Owen. The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541 prior to the memorial service and other times at the residence. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End Chapel with the Rev. John Meadows officiating.
