Floyd D. Macomber

Floyd D. Macomber, 91, of Attica passed away peacefully on Sunday November 6, 2016 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. He was born August 23, 1925 in Cicero, NY to the late William (Margaret Zohe) Macomber. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, siblings Beatrice George and Alvin Macomber. He is survived by his sons; Elliot (Joanne) Macomber of Spencerport, Scott (Joanne) Macomber of Fulton; grandchildren Timothy (Jennifer), Gregory (Karen), Chelsey and Mara Macomber; Juliet Brandt, Bethany St. Pierre, David (Kylie) Taylor and Trina Taylor; great-grandchildren Sage, Lily, Ethan, Nolan, Isaac, Elijah, Hayden, Hailey and Hannah; sister Elizabeth, brother Edwin along with several nieces and nephews. Floyd enlisted in the army in 1943 and served as a Sergeant in the Philippines. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in agriculture. He taught agriculture and farm mechanics in the Attica School System and BOCES for 35 years. Floyd was a member and advisor of the Future Farmer’s Association and past president of the Association of Teachers of Agriculture of New York. He was also past Noble Grand Citizens Lodge #309 of the International Order of Odd Fellows. He enjoyed traveling and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday November 10, 2016 from 12:00-1:00PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. A 1:00PM Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation at the Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Rochester 3111 South Winton Rd. Rochester, NY 14623 or the Attica Historical Society 130 Main St. Attica, NY 14011.
