Helen Coello

Helen C. "Kitty" Coello, 93, of Effort, passed away on Tuesday, May 2 in her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Carlos H. Coello. They celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary in September. Born in Elizabeth, NJ she was the daughter of the late Michael and Pauline (Minich) Bukowski. Helen worked as a waitress in Kelinsworth, NJ in her early years. She then moved to Roselle Park, NJ in 1949 and resided there until 1986. During her time in Roselle Park, she worked a crossing guard for a few years. She later moved to PA in 1987. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Joseph Petrone of Linden, NJ; three daughters, Pauline Petrulla and husband Frank of Brielle, NJ, Roe Howell and husband George of Union, MO, Teresa Schlegel and husband Greg of Kunkletown; thirteen grandchildren, Frankie, Rene, Michael, Jeffrey, Matthew, Nicholas, Botch, Linda, Shannon, JoAnne, Tiffany, Kimberly, and Joey; twenty two great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Petrone. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 2:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. David Felker officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. www.kresgefuneralhome.com
