James J. Mechler Orange Park, Fl - James J. Mechler, 82, died on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Earl B. Hadlow Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in raised the Bronx, N.Y., James moved to Dunellen in 1968 and 2 years ago moved to Orange Park, Florida. Mr. Mechler worked in sales during his entire career. He served with the Navy during WWII and was a member of the Middlesex American Legion Post 306 and South Plainfield American Legion Post 243. He is pre-deceased by his wife Letitia Mechler and his sister Dorothea Zach. Surviving are his children; Lee Anne Leo and her husband Ed Setnicky of South Plainfield, Pamela Lucas and her husband Steve of Washington D.C., Patricia Ricevuto and her husband Thomas of Ft. Myers, Fl., Thomas Mechler and his wife Kathleen of South Plainfield, John Mechler and his wife Kathleen of Pt. Pleasant, Robert Mechler and his wife Margaret of Orange Park, Fl., and his sister Evelyn Mechler of Bronx, N.Y.. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Committal Service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ with interment to follow. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
