Allene Maskew
Allene Lurah Maskew passed away March 23, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born January 3, 1916 in Limestone County, Texas. She was one of thirteen (13) children of H. H. and Lurah Sims. She graduated from Groesbeck High School and earned her Masters degree from Texas Tech. Allene lived in Artesia, New Mexico for 52 years and taught in the elementary schools of the Artesia School system for 30 years. She is survived by her sons, Ronny and his wife, Joette of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Rhudy and his wife, Sherri of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Alton Sims of Groesbeck, Texas and Eugene Sims of Waco, Texas; and one sister, Wylene Bryan of Lubbock, Texas. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the Lost Prairie Baptist Church, Limestone County, Texas, Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Allene's niece, Reverend Kathy Neece will officiate.Obituary
