Stella May Helmer Ionia and Swartz Creek Age 86, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Grand Blanc. She was born on December 5, 1931 in Kit Carson, CO the daughter of Aaron and Dorothy Schlabach. She was a member of Shiloh Community Church and First Baptist Church in Swartz Creek and the Ladies Auxiliary in Harbor Beach. Stella enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family, whom were a very important part of her life. She was proud of her relationship with her Lord. Stella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick Helmer; sisters Myrna Woodruff and Coleen Mungall. Surviving are her siblings Marilyn (Thomas) Will of Harbor Beach, Rodney (Judy) Schlabach of Fenton and Sherry (Jim) Coen of Flint; step-daughters Shelly (Brad) Nowak of White Lake, Laurie (Jim) Quandt of Peck and Leanne (Phil) Armstead of Port Huron; sister-in-law, Beverly Peterson; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Kenneth Harger at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Shiloh Community Church, 8197 Heth St., Orleans. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery in the spring. The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
