June 10, 1929 – January 1, 2018 Joyce Georgianna Marcy, age 88, formerly of Alma, passed away, Monday, January 1, 2018. She was born June 10, 1929, the daughter of Clare A. and Goldie May (Switzer) Smith. Joyce married Lloyd Marcy on October 22, 1948 and they celebrated 56 years of marriage until his passing on February 6, 2005. Before her retirement, Joyce was a devoted employee at Alma College for many years. She was always busy doing different activities, including baking wedding cakes, farming beans and wheat, breeding toy poodles, and playing cards. She also enjoyed traveling, knitting, quilting, and fishing at Coldwater Lake. Joyce loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and she always made sure that they were well fed. Joyce is survived by her adoring children, Linda (John) Burmeister of Gulf Shores, AL, Bobbie (Ray) Cell of Vernon Hills, IL, Susan (Joe) Casado of Clarksville, MI, Nancy (Robert) Rasinske of Lansing, MI, and Rodney Marcy of Elk River, MN; nine treasured grandchildren; five cherished great-grandchildren; dear sister, Clarline Sych; and many loving extended family members. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. For those desiring, contributions may be made to Country Living Adult Foster Care, 7884 E.
