Mary Schnicke

Age 92, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. She was born on April 17, 1916 in Sand Lake, MI the daughter of George and Edith (Barbour) Pierson. Mrs. Schnicke worked as a cook, LPN and RN at the Kelsey Memorial Hospital in Lakeview. She was a current member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Belding and former member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ionia and the Bethel Lutheran Church in Howard City. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Theodore Schnicke in 1958, Daughter, Kay Ryns in 1995; 3 Grandsons, Teddy in 1978, John in 1982, and Kevin in 2006; 2 Sisters, Grace in 1985 and Edna in 1987. Surviving are her children, Gary (Carolyn) Schnicke of Three Forks, MT, Sandra (James) Marquis of Wallingford, VT, Gloria (Robert) Johnston of Orleans, Dennis (Connie) Schnicke of Manhattan, MT; 9 Grandchildren; Numerous Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; 3 Sisters, Pauline (John) Haskin of Paw Paw, Alice (Al) Terpstra of Grand Rapids, and Helen O’Neil of Lake Orion; Brother, Howard Pierson of Sand Lake; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Joe Fremer at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. Interment will take place on Monday, November 17, 2008 at Amble Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-4 p.m. Saturday.
