Clinton Wofford

Clinton J. Wofford, 92, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017. Graveside service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas. Visitation Wednesday evening 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Frwy., Hurst. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimers Association in Clinton's name. Clinton was born on June 21, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Clinton and Irma Wofford. He was a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a degree in accounting and a graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law with a law degree. Clinton graduated from the U.S. Naval Officers Training School at Notre Dame. He was a Lt. in the U.S. Navy WWII, Pacific Theater. Clinton served as Communications Officer aboard the USS Latimer. He was a longtime Board Member of the American Association of Attorneys/Certified Public Accountants and a Member of the State Bar of Texas. Clinton was also a member of the Grand Lodge of Texas, Master Mason, Pentagon Lodge No. 1080 for 50 years. Clinton was very involved in soccer serving in (among others) the following capacities; President Dallas Soccer Association, President North Texas Soccer Association, organized and served as first President of Richardson Soccer Association, President North Texas Soccer Referees' Association, Member of U.S. Soccer Referee Committee, and inducted as Member of North Texas Soccer Association Hall of Fame. Clinton is survived by his loving wife, Jimmie V. Wofford; sons, Joe Smith, John Smith, Jim Smith, Justin Box, and Robert Wofford; daughters, Jerilin Jackson, Jacki Lea Boaz, Suzanne Kenny, and Carol Box; sister, Frances Jean Smith; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
