Wilfred Conklin “Bill”, 92 of Grants Pass passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014 in Grants Pass. No services are planned. For online condolences and tributes please visit stephensfc.com. Arrangements by Stephens Family Chapel, Grants Pass, Oregon. Bill was born on May 21, 1922 in Spring Valley, Minnesota. On July 17, 1942 he married his high school sweetheart Bernice (Bea) Leinen. He moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1928 and worked for a local lumber company most of his life except for a vacation with the Navy Air Force. He was rated ARM 2C and attached to the USS Midway with Vt74. He and his wife “Bea” were “snow birds” wintering in the foothills of Yuma, Arizona for over twenty years. Bill was an active member of the Southern Baptist Church in the foothills of Yuma. He enjoyed people, reading, traveling and life in the outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Conklin of Grants Pass, OR; daughter, Jerrie Moore of Tualatin, OR; 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
