Anthony E Baruffi

Anthony E. Baruffi, 96, of New Britain, CT., died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Southington Care Center. Anthony was born in New Britain, CT and was the son of the late Eugene and Laura (Spina) Baruffi. Anthony was the owner and operator of Baruffi and Sons Landscaping for forty years. Mr. Baruffi served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps., during World War II. He also owned Vi’s Luncheonette, Arch St., New Britain, CT for several years and drove a bus for CR&L and Oak Street Line. Anthony enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Cedar Lake and taking Atlantic City trips. He was a member of the Marchegian Club, Honorary Member of Club 48, Amber Club and St. Ann Church.<br/>Anthony is survived by his loving wife of seventy-three years – Mary Baruffi of New Britain, CT. his two sons, Anthony Baruffi and his companion Lee Ann Cavaliere of Plainville, CT., Michael Baruffi and his wife Belinda of Newington, CT., his daughter Diane Lacoste of New Britain, CT., four grandchildren – Norman Lacoste and his wife Julie of New Britain, CT., Lisa Pineda and her husband Junior of Hartford, CT., Jennifer Lacoste and her husband Randy Ciezynski of Newington, CT., Jessica Baruffi of Newington, CT., and seven great grandchildren – Michael, Naomi, Arianna, Taylor, Travis, Daniel and Sofia, as well as many nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his two brothers Gino and Louie Baruffi and his three sisters Lena Betterini, Marie Staron and Nora Baruffi, his son-in-law Norman Lacoste. The Baruffi family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and aides at Southington Care Center. <br/>Funeral rites for Anthony will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 9 a.m. with the procession departing at 9:30 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT., followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain, CT. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain, CT. The American flag will be presented to Anthony’s wife Mary. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37 (Fienemann Rd), right off exit – one mile down on right.
