Kathryn Mears

Kathryn E. Mears, 79, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford on Thursday July 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey April 22, 1936, the daughter of the late Frederick Klein and Ethel (Snow) Klein. Kathryn resided in Weehawken, New Jersey for many years and was a resident of Enfield for the past fifty five years. Kathryn was employed for many years in the food service industry. She was a member of the American Legion Tanguay Magill Post 80, Enfield Women’s Auxiliary of which she was very actively involved for many years. Kathryn is survived by her devoted and beloved family; a son and daughter-in-law Brian & Jean Smith of Colchester, a son Ronald Smith and Cindy Axenroth of Enfield, and a daughter & son-in-law Patricia & David Bunce of Colonie, NY, four grandchildren; Benjamin Bunce, Annie Bunce, Stephanie Smith, and Maxwell Smith, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Thomas Smith also her second husband Dudley Mears, and her daughter Elaine Smith. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 5th at 9:00 am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd Enfield CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00am in St. Martha’s Church, 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield. Her family will receive relative and friends on Tuesday Aug. 4, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Interment will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations can be made to the American Legion Women’s Aux Post 80, 556 Enfield Street Enfield, Ct 06082.
