Rita Renna

Rita A. Renna, 90, of Enfield, beloved wife of Anthony P. Renna, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 21, at Parkway Pavilion Healthcare. She was born in Chicopee, MA the daughter of the late Adolph and Herminie (Plurde) Gosselin in 1918. Rita was a graduate of Assumption Academy, Nicolet P.Q. Canada. She married her husband Tony in 1941 and moved to Enfield in 1950 where they made their home for the past 58 years. She worked for various employers in the Enfield area and retired from Casual Corners in 1984. Rita loved to read a good mystery novel, enjoyed making puzzles and caring for her many pets. She was a deeply religious and caring individual sharing her love with all those around her. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Besides her husband of 67 years she is survived by her son Anthony P. Renna, Jr. and his wife Jo-Anne of Enfield, her grandson Jamie and granddaughter Melissa Renna both of Enfield, her great grandchildren Alexandra, Matthew and Kylie Renna and many nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by her eight brothers and two sisters, Antonie; Adelard; Alfred; Emile; Joseph; Adolph, August and Leon Gosselin and Alvina Brisbios and Anna Forant. Rita's brother Alfred was killed aboard the battleship Arizona on December 7, 1941. Her family is grateful for the kind and loving care she received while a resident at Parkway Pavilion and the Felician Adult Care both of Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Rita's life will be held 11: 30 am Saturday, December 27, in St. Bernard's Church, Hazardville. Interment will be in St. Patrick King St. Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday morning prior to the Mass from 9 to 11 am at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Memorial donations in Rita's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. CT Chapter, 279 New Britain Rd. Ste. # 5, Kensington, CT 06037.
