Dorothy Lachmund
Gaffney -- Dorothy H. Lachmund, 88, formerly of 211 S. Shelby St. in Blacksburg, passed away Wednesday, February 15th, 2012, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Blacksburg, Miss Lachmund was the daughter of the late Bruno and Elizabeth Hunter Lachmund. Miss Lachmund was a graduate of Wesleyan College, earned her Master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and retired as a teacher at Shelby High School. She was a former member of the American Association of University Women, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Miss Lachmund was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Lachmund. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 18th, 2012, at 11:00am at Mountain View Cemetery with Rev.
