McCUBBIN, CHARLENE R., 77, of south Louisville, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 31, 2013. She was the former Charlene Rafiner, a native of Kansas City, MO, a homemaker, excellent seamstress, wife and in her own special way, raised many babies and children. She was a longtime member of Beechmont Baptist Church, Eastern Star, Southern Star Chapter # 154, she also played a mean hand of cards with her card playing buddies. Charlene was preceded in death by sisters, Shirley Powers, Judy Persons and Ruth Bird. Survivors include her devoted husband of over 57 years, Donald McCubbin, sister, Nancy Burney; brother, Tozy Evoritt; also by numerous nieces and nephews, all that she loved and cherished; and special mom to many other children. Celebration of Life is at 11 a.m. Friday at Beechmont Baptist Church, 4574 S. Third St.. with interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will from 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd., and after 9a.m. Friday at the church. Expressions may go to the memorial fund of her church.
