Don Halsell

Don Halsell, 86, of Keene passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at home. He was born January 13, 1929 in Iraan, TX to Robert D. and Willie Mae Eubanks Halsell. He married Marilyn Nixon on Jan. 23, 1954 in Keene.<br>Mr. Halsell served in the United States Army on active duty in Germany in 1950-1952 and later was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Navy Seabees in 1969. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a friend to many. Don was also a natural entrepreneur, working in the brick industry until age 60. He also served as President of the Brick Institute of Texas for 30 years. Don, Marilyn, and daughter, Nilda founded the North Texas School of Swedish Massage, which is still operating today. He was a dedicated Christian. <br>Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Marilyn Halsell of Keene; daughter, Nilda Ruth Tull and husband Robert of Covington; son, Dr. Eric Halsell of Keene; former daughter-in-law, Shirley Elizabeth Halsell of Burleson; grandchildren, Michael Halsell and wife Crystal, Kaitlyn Halsell, Julie Tull and Melissa Tull; brother, Jim Bob Halsell of San Antonio; sister, Mollie Sue Prowant and husband Dr. Charles of White Bluff; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. <br><br>A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.<br>
