Charlsye Lynn Phillips Adams lost her battle with cancer on July 8, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013 in the Mexia Cemetery with Chaplain Mary Wilburn officiating. Charlsye was born January 28, 1943 to Macon Howard Phillps, Jr. and Willie Mae Harris Phillips in Mexia, Texas. She lived most of her life in Mexia and graduated from Mexia High School. She was a loving wife and mother who cherished her family. Charlsye was a longtime Girl Scout leader and served as secretary of Limestone Crime Stoppers for several years. She was owner of Sanders Exxon and Parts House for 20 years. She was a born again Christian who loved serving her Lord. Charlsye married, the love of her life, Joe Wayne Adams, Sr. on October 18, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in Mexia and enjoyed 22 wonderful years together. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; daughter, LaShawn Sanders; and two brothers, Macon Howard Phillips, III and Jon Reed Phillips. Charlsye is survived by her son, Ricky Sanders and wife, Sharon of Mexia; daughters, Tamra Scott of Corpus Christi, Angela Shelby and husband, Larry of Fairfield and Talitha Sanders; grandchildren, Rick Sanders and wife, Raquel, Hallie and Reid Sanders, Spencer and Chad Scott, Dustin Bonner and wife, Jenna, Leanne Bonner, Paige O’Hare, Kelsey Sanders Terry, Brittany Walton and husband, Brandon and Bryan Beldin; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Seth, Madison, Hunter, Cayse, David and Brinlynn; one brother, Jimmy Phillps and wife, Mary of Eustace; one sister, Regina Phillips of Mexia; two sister-in-laws, Sherry Phillips Baker and Carol Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Rick Sanders, II, Reid Sanders, Dustin Bonner, Spencer Scott, Chad Scott and Bryan Beldin.
