Joyce Davidson Aberdeen, Washington Obituary

Joyce Davidson

Our Mom, Joyce Arlene Davidson, 81, a resident of Montesano and Aberdeen, died on June 4, 2014 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. She was born on January 7, 1933 and was the daughter of Janet (Duvall) and John Holland. The family came to Grisdale from Eastern Washington in the late 40’s. It was in the Montesano high school library, looking out the windows that Mom saw her future husband-to-be, Ralph Davidson. They were married June 23, 1950 in Montesano. Dad died in a construction accident at the Masonic Lodge in Aberdeen in 1985. Mom was a wonderful homemaker and was employed as a clerk at Rottle’s Clothing Store in Montesano for many years. A few years after Dad’s death, she moved to Aberdeen in 1991. Mom loved her grandchildren, music, dancing, and pencil drawing. In her later years she enjoyed watching old movies, collecting teddy bears, and she absolutely loved animals. Mom raised 3 children, Everett L. “Bugs” Davidson, who died in 2009, Ron and wife Carol Davidson of Elma and Jody and husband Karl Harris of Aberdeen. Mom is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a brother Duane Oestman. Upon Mom’s request there will be no service and a private inurnment will take place in the Fern Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. The family would also like to thank West Haven Villa for being so good to Mom. We thought it very fitting that memorials be made to PAWS, P.O. Box 451, Aberdeen, WA 98520. We would love to hear your stories @ www.fernhillfuneral.com Arrangements are entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen.
