Graveside service for James T. Raifsnider, 83, of Lake Whitney will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in Godley Cemetery. Reverend Wayne McCoy will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday at the funeral home. James T. Raifsnider passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Whitney. He was born April 7, 1930 in Acton to Rush and Allie Pribble Raifsnider. He married Ardith Jean Starr on March 15, 1953 in Anchorage, Alaska. Mr. Raifsnider served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor at AMPI, retiring in 1992 with more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, gardening and fishing with his grandkids. James was very active, even until his last days. He was a generous, giving man with a good sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ardith Raifsnider; daughters, Susan West and husband Stan, Kathy Robinson and husband Jerry and Becky Peterson and husband Steve; eight grandsons; one granddaughter; 12 great grandchildren; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Abbie. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Cliff Raifsnider; and sisters, Christine, Clarise and Margaret.
