Frederick J. Maloney, Jr., 71, of River Rd., Pawcatuck, passed away at Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Born in Westerly, RI he was a son of the late Mary and Frederick J. Maloney. Frederick was a planner with General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton for many years. A US Air Force Veteran, he was also a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church and a member of the Westerly Singers and the Portuguese Holy Ghost Society. Surviving he leaves a sister, Kathleen Molinaro and her husband Joseph, Sr. of Danbury, CT; niece Mary L. Comstock of Danbury, CT and nephew Joseph Molinaro, Jr. of Pawcatuck. Fred was predeceased by a brother, John B. Maloney. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 9:00am – 10:30am in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, RI. Immediately following, a Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11am in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 60 Liberty St., Pawcatuck. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
