Ida F. Lentsch
Ida F. Lentsch, 95, of Burnsville, MN and formerly of Eden, SD passed away on February 16, 2013 in Burnsville, MN. Ida was born February 19, 1917 in Marshall County, South Dakota, to the late John and Katherine (Halbauer) Schuster. She grew up on a farm west of Eden, attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and graduated from the Lake City High School in 1936, following which she was employed in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area for a time following graduation. Ida married Carl M. Lentsch on October 25, 1938 at Sacred Heart Church, Eden, South Dakota. They farmed for many years on the Lentsch homestead in Day County, before retiring to Eden in 1975. After moving to Eden, Ida was employed at Dakotah, sewing quilts, pillows, and curtains. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and making quilts for her children and grandchildren. During her retirement years she and Carl enjoyed traveling by way of tours to many parts of the country. Carl passed away in 2003. Ida remained in her home until 2008 when she moved to The Rivers Senior Living Community in Burnsville, Minnesota to be near family. Ida was preceded in death by her husband Carl; parents; sisters, Hilda (Ray) Sattler, Alvina (Otto) Heitmann; and brothers, George, William, Lambert, Raymond, Norman, Eugene, son-in-law Raymond Schneider, daughters-in-law Joyce (Allen) Lentsch, and Bonnie (Lester) Lentsch. She is survived by children: Janice Schneider, Burnsville MN, Allen (Barb) Lentsch, Lilydale, MN, Muriel (James) Hintz, Cottage Grove, MN, Lester Lentsch, Burnsville MN and Dan (Yvonne) Lentsch, Roslyn, SD; brothers: Robert Schuster of Eden and Florenze Schuster of Roslyn; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
