Madeline Virginia Nichols

Madeline Carter Nichols 77 was “serenaded by angels to the throne of God” on Thursday July 24, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center. Her life was well lived with much love for her family. Madeline was born May 25, 1937 the daughter of Bill and Frances Carter in Front Royal, VA. Madeline married her childhood sweetheart Earl D. Nichols on March 5th, 1955. Together they raised five children; Earl Wayne Nichols, Vickie Nichols Good, Brenda Nichols Kline, Sherry Nichols Saul and Tim Nichols. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and many friends. She had a special place in her heart for her beautiful little Shih Tzu puppy “Sassy”. Left to cherish Madeline’s memory are her husband of 59 years Earl D. Nichols and children; Vickie Good and husband Walter, Brenda Kline and husband Danny, Sherry Saul, Tim Nichols and wife Tina. Seven (7) grandchildren; Farrah Good, Jason Nichols, Brad Nichols, Dustin Kerns, Dallas Nichols, Dylan Saul and Holly Nichols; three (3) Great grandchildren; Kayle Nichols, Ralyn Nichols and Brantley Nichols. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Doug Carter and three sisters; Mildred Carter, Aline Funkhouser, Elizabeth Butler; a son Earl Wayne Nichols and a grandson Travis Daniel Kline. The family will receive friends, Sunday, July 27th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.. The burial will take place at the Greenhill Cemetery located in Stephens City, VA.
