Beatrice Wisdom Smith

Beatrice June Wisdom Smith 95, died on January 11, 2011. She was 95 years old, born on June 24, 1915 in Prescott, Washington. She grew up on her parent's (Aubert and Constance Wisdom) wheat ranch near Waitsburg, Washington. Beatrice graduated from Dixie High School where she was a local girl's basketball star. She became a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Nursing School in Spokane, Washington and upon graduation worked as an RN in Portland, Oregon. After meeting and marrying her husband, Alan W. Smith Jr., they eventually lived in Seaside, Oregon for many years. Beatrice was retired from the Seaside Hospital and was widowed in 1976. She is survived by her only child, A. Diann Neal; grandchildren, Kelly S. Neal III and Karter B. Neal DVM, and by her two great-grandchildren Madalaine M. Hembrough and William I. Hembrough. Beatrice lived with and cared for her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly S. Neal, Jr. for the last 20 years of her life in Phoenix, Arizona and more recently in Tucson, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either the Episcopal Church of the Apostles in Tucson, Calvary Episcopal Church in Seaside, or the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Private Memorial Service will be held at Church of the Apostles in Oro Valley, Arizona. Beatrice's ashes will be buried in Waitsburg in the Wisdom plot by her parents in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel.
