Willie Houser

Kings Mountain -- Willie Henry Houser, 84, formerly of Blacksburg, passed away Friday, June 12th, 2015, at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain. Born in Cherokee County, he was the widower of Laura Jane Burton Houser and the son of the late Clayburn Henry Houser and Allie Mae Wylie Houser. Mr. Houser retired from textiles and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Houser are one son, Doug Houser, of Grover; one daughter, Elizabeth Houser, of Grover; one brother, Hub Houser, of Blacksburg; one sister, Shirley Houser Canoutas, of Blacksburg; and two grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Houser was preceded in death by three brothers, Manuel, Johnny, and Jimmy Houser; two sisters, Dorothy Hayes and Carrine Bivens; three half-sisters and two half-brothers. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15th, 2015, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. Vernon Craig and Rev. Harold Beam officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Douglas Houser, Jacob Houser, Charles Martin, Mike Houser, Mitchell Houser, and Daniel Spencer will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the home of Elizabeth Houser, 122 Hicks Road, Grover, NC 28073. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
