Joseph lewis Flewelling

ARGYLE Joseph L. Flewelling Jr., 80, of Pleasant Valley Road, died Sunday, September, 6, 2015, at home with his loving family by his side. Born March 28, 1935 in Corinth, he was the son of the late Joseph L. Flewelling Sr. and the late Ruth L. (Tooker) Flewelling. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 - 1956, as a Certified Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. He married Linda (Bishop) Flewelling on July 12, 2004. After his military service, Joe worked for several contractors as a mechanic, truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He also worked as a factory worker for Hercules Inc and Mallinckrodt. Joseph loved country music as well as round and square dancing. He was a member of the Country Round and Square Dance Association (formerly Dick Ladd Square Dance Association), Adirondack Fiddlers, and the American Legion. He also enjoyed woodworking and helping his family with a variety of projects. Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by a brother Ralph Flewelling Sr., Son-in-law, Jim McKinstry, Brother-in-laws, Bernard Langworthy, Karl Monroe and Lester Jenkins. Survivors include his loving wife Linda (Bishop) Flewelling, a son, John Bennett and his wife, Liz of Angleton, TX, daughters: JoAnn McKinstry of Queensbury and Adirondack, Kitty Flewelling of Raburn Gap, GA, son, Joseph Flewelling III and his girlfriend, Samatha Brayman. Stepchildren: Erica (Ted Porter) Switser, Ray (Lisa) Switser, Gail (Matthew) Meade, Nicholas Steves. A brother, Stanley (Thelma) Flewelling Sr. Sisters: Frances (Guy) Harrington, Barbara Jenkins, Belva Langworthy, Norma Monroe, Gail Flewelling, Ruthie (Don) Crosse, Jean (Porky) Sumner; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and his very special friends, Dick, Rich and Robbie Leise. He is also survived by his dog, Hunter, his cats, Muffin, Termite and Casper. Family and friends may call on Wednesday September 9, 2015 from 4-6 pm at M.B.
