Shaffer Funeral Home 901 Austin Street ~ Robert Lee, Texas 76945 ~ (325) 453-2424 DORIS WATSON LARA ROBERT LEE~ Mrs. Doris Lara, 86, of Robert Lee, Texas went to be with the Lord August 7, 2016 in Midland, TX after a brief illness. Visitation will be all day Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 3:00p.m., Friday August 19, 2016 in Robert Lee Cemetery. She will be laid to rest along side of her parents and brothers, Robert and Sam. Reverend Jody Rodriguez will officiate. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Robert Lee. Doris was born in Goldthwaite, Texas to Robert (Shorty) and Lilly Powell. She retired from the restaurant business where she loved working alongside of her parents and siblings for many years. After her retirement she enjoyed travelling and being a housewife. She loved spending her past time watching sports especially her Dallas Cowboys. She liked to read romance novels, and working on puzzles daily. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Sam and great-grandson, Garrett Hall. She leaves behind her husband of forty one years, Ynes Lara; daughters, Rhonda Turner of Wichita Falls, TX, Suzann Gooch and husband Bobby of Odessa, TX, Sharon Rollins of Snyder, TX; one son, Ricki Watson of Bangs, TX; seven grandchildren, Scott Watson, Justin Hall, Brandon Rollins, Zach Rollins, Ginger Turner, Kris Hall, and Raelee Watson. She also leaves ten great- grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Powell; two sisters, Raphina Hopson and Mildred Sweaza and many others dear to her heart.
