AT EASTSIDE MEMORIAL A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & TRIBUTE CENTER IN WATERBURY Mr. Robert Joseph Sheehan, age 64 of Sebastian, Florida died on Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Leesburg, Virginia while visiting family for the holidays. He was the husband of Sandra (Marano) Sheehan. Robert was born July 6th, 1948 in Waterbury, CT the son of Patricia (Blum) Sheehan of Connecticut; and the late Edward Sheehan. Robert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He attended Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, Connecticut and continued his education at the University of Portland, graduating in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in business. He also received his MBA from Suffolk University in Boston and attended an executive program at Harvard University. For 33 years, he worked in the United States Postal Service, retiring as a senior executive in 2004, and most recently, as Vice President of Postal Relations at Neopost Corporation. During his retirement he split his time between his homes in Sebastian, Florida and Newport, Rhode Island. He enjoyed golfing, home renovating, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Newport, RI, Newport Yacht Club, RI, and The Knights of Columbus, St. John of the Cross Catholic Church of Vero Beach, Florida, Council 13153, and Assembly 3297 where he was a 4th degree knight. He was an active member of the St. Sebastian where he served as a Eucharist Minister. Besides his wife Sandra of 42 years, Robert is survived by, his daughter, Colleen O’Neill and her husband Keith of Virginia, two sons, Christopher Sheehan and his wife Heather of Massachusetts, Brian Sheehan and his wife Erin of New Jersey; his brothers, Richard of Rhode Island, Patrick and Martin of Connecticut, and Timothy of Massachusetts; and his six grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Sheehan will be held on Friday January 4th 2013 at 10:15 am from Eastside Memorial, “A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center” 1987 East Main St Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 South Main St Waterbury to celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.. A memorial gathering will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 3rd from 5:00-7:00 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John of the Cross Roman Catholic Church in Vero Beach, Florida on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 12:00 am.
