Rev. Charles Manuel Hunt

Rev. Charles Manuel Hunt, age 81 of Chadbourn, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Whiteville, NC.  Charles was born on January 7, 1939, in Virginia, to the late Edward & Queenie Johnson Hunt. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Hunt and his siblings, Robert Wooden, Jr., Doris Hunt, and Elaine Hunt.  A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Chadbourn Church of God of Prophecy, with interment to follow in the Belvue Cemetery, Chadbourn. Pastor John McPherson will officiate the service.   Visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45, prior to the service.  Mr. Charles was a man of many talents. He was a retired postmaster, with over 34 years of service, and recently retired from Tabor City Post Office. Charles loved his Lord and Savior and served him faithfully. Mr. Hunt also honorably served the United States in the Air Force.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Hunt, of the home;  children, Ronnie Hunt, of East Orange, NJ, Donte Beckham (Candace), of Bloomington, Indiana, Mashawn Harris, of the home; siblings, Marshall Hunt, of San Antonio, Texas, Jimmy James Hunt (Letess), of Newport News, Virginia; and several beloved Grand and Great-Grandchildren.
