SMSgt Larry Goodwin Davis (United States Air Force, Retired), a resident of Skipperville, died early Wednesday morning, February 19, 2020, at his home with his family by his side. He was 79 years old. Funeral services for SMSgt Davis will be graveside 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 24, 2020, in Skipperville Community Cemetery with Reverend Freddie L. McCain officiating. Interment will follow with Full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Monday in Skipperville United Methodist Church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. SMSgt Davis was born July 11, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee. He served in the United States Air Force for twenty years until his retirement. Following his military service, SMSgt Davis was CEO of Wang’s International, retired in 1996 and moved to Skipperville. He was a member of Skipperville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frieda Lux Davis Rone; and his brother, Jerry Davis. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Charlotte Bell Davis of Skipperville; three daughters, Lisa Kness (Rocky) of Alaska, Debbie Box (Douglas) of Memphis, Tammy Allison of Skipperville; one son, Thomas Allison of Skipperville; and four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Skipperville Community Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 214, Skipperville, Alabama 36374.
