Gisèle McCann

Peacefully at her home in Brockville on Wednesday, July 29, 2009; Gisèle Fleurette (Dumouchel) McCann at the age of 73 years. Beloved wife of the late Leo Joseph McCann. Loving mother of Michael (Lorri) of Sudbury, Francis (Edith) of Peru, and Janet Cermak (Paul) of Ottawa. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Declan, Connor, Patrick, Ivanna and Madeleine. Dear sister of Denise Dumouchel (Doric Rochon), Murielle (Claude Castonguay), Gabrielle (Donald Laviolette), Cécile (Marcel Bélair), Marcel (Madeleine), Irène Dulude, Madeleine Dumouchel and Jeanne D’Arc Leduc. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Edouard and Rose Dumouchel, by her brother Robert Dumouchel, and by sisters Berthe Ross, Jeannette Lambert, Thérèse St-Onge and Éveline Valade. The McCann family wish to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses, volunteers and care givers who have provided support, comfort and care during Gisèle’s illness. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Sunday, August 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, August 3rd from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. The Rite of Committal and interment will take place at St. James Cemetery, Eganville, on Tuesday, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. In remembrance, donations to the Brockville District Hospital Palliative Care or the Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged.
