Homer Doodle Parham

Homer “Doodle” Parham, 93, of Atkins, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2008, at the Atkins Nursing Center. Born April 23, 1915, in Pope County, Arkansas, he was the son of Jessie Fay Parham (known as a Hard-shell Baptist Preacher) and Tamsey Jane Richardson Parham. He was a retired businessman. He is survived by a sister, Susie Evelyn Parham Matchett of Atkins; a brother, Edward Parham of Washington State; and children, Diana Louise Parham Poulson and husband, Robert, of Russellville, Freda Joyce Parham Mooney and partner, Ed Flansberg, of Atkins; Johnny Leavell Parham and wife, Mindy of Little Rock; 7 grandchildren, 11 ½ great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 15, 2008, at the Atkins Nursing Center with the Rev. Thomas Chenowith officiating. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service.
