He was always willing to share his music with local communities and organizations. David had a passion for cars which included drag-racing, rebuilding classic cars, and participating in car shows. David was a jokester and had a quick wit keeping the mood lively. Whether he was looking for a grandkid to pick at or spending his mornings with the guys of the Breakfast Crew at the shop, David had to have fun. He served as a Deacon of First Baptist Church Mexia, where he enjoyed being a part of music ministry, serving as a solo pianist, singing in the First Baptist Church Mexia Choir, Easter Pageant cast member, and various roles in the Dinner Theatre – including the chorale. He particularly enjoyed his Sunday School class - Walt’s Sunday School class, of which he was a faithful member. In addition, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mexia Baptist Men Group.
