Lorraine Vienneau

Lorraine Jenny Vienneau, 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 4th at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Her long, courageous battle to continue living despite her diagnosis was an inspiration to her family and all who knew her. She was born on May 30th, 1929 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, the daughter of the late Marion Dennis Doudera and Edward Doudera and had resided in Plymouth since 1985. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she was devoted to caring for her family, her pets, her antique home with gardens and backyard wildlife; and enjoyed immensely any time spent with family and friends who resided in CT, MD, and ME. She is the adored mother of three children: Kevin, Michael, and Leslie. Predeceased by her brothers Dennis and Gerard, Lorraine is survived by son Kevin and wife Suzanne and sons Liam and Conor; son Michael and partner Leslie Hunter, daughter Michaela Winchester and her son Damien; daughter Leslie Barbieri and husband James and sons Clint and James; nephews Gunther and Jason Doudera, cousin Sharon and Harvey Rosen, cousin Charlene Whitney, and lifelong friend Helen and Hal Forsythe. Lorraine was a model for Lord & Taylor, worked for Travelers Human Resources, and owned Dennis Antiques. She was passionate about antiques and gardening with a sentiment for nature and old world craftsmanship. We love our Mother for her grace, quiet dignity and humility; her independence and spirited determination; her beauty and wonderful style. We will always be inspired by her common sense and practical nature; her devotion to family, country and faith in God. The Vienneau Family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical and support staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Center for Cancer Care / Yale Smilow Cancer Center in Torrington. Countless thanks to Dr. Michael Magnifico and Dr. Katherine Harvey for so many years of kindness along with their exceptional care. To the medical, nursing and hospice teams at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital our sincere appreciation for their expert skill and special compassion for Lorraine and her family.
