Heather Jean Estep-Gate City, VA Heather Jean Estep, 43, Gate City, VA passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her residence. She was one of God’s special angels born in Sullivan Co., TN on March 25, 1973, the daughter of Clifford James Estep and Agnes Cox Estep. She was loved dearly by those who knew her and had a heart of gold. She fought courageously from birth with multiple problems from spine bifida. She was a trooper. She has gone now to rest in the arms of Jesus. She worked at Goodwill Industries for 11 to 12 years. She enjoyed music, Facebook, being with people, and living life to the fullest as best as she could. Her grandparents, Bayse and Ellen Estep and Margaret W. Cox; uncle, Carlos Estep; great aunt, Agnes Wilson and infant cousin, Baby Compton preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother, Agnes C. Estep, Gate City, VA; father, Clifford Estep and wife, Janet; half-sister, Celesa Estep Broadwater and husband, Jonathan, Gate City, VA; half-brother, Tyler Estep, Gate City, VA; nephew and nieces, Clay and Cori Broadwater, Nora and Tatum Estep; uncles, Bane Cox and George Cox; aunt, Martha Compton; cousins, Nikki Cox Taylor, Marthanna Scott, Tanya Rutridge, Josh Compton, and Timothy Compton; along with many friends. Steve Hudson, her personal companion, who she thought so much of. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Bobby and Linda Hillman will provide the music. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November, 23, 2016 at Point Truth Cemetery in Long Hollow in Nickelsville, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery for graveside services. An online guest register is available for the Estep family at www.gatecityfunerals.com.
