Michael Frederick Dolan, a longtime resident of Merrimack, died on December 4, 2016 at Southern NH Medical Center. He was born on April 9, 1952 in Quincy, MA, son of the late Vincent F. and Rita (Braun) Dolan. Michael was retired from the Nashua Fire Rescue Department, having attained the rank of Lieutenant. He retired after 29 years of service and was a member of the Nashua Retired Firefighters Association and the Hillsborough County Fire Wardens Association. He was active with the Salvation Army in Nashua, most recently serving as the Emergency Disaster Service Coordinator. One of his favorite activities with the Salvation Army was coordinating their annual Kettle Drive. He was a graduate of Randolph High School in Randolph, MA Michael is survived by his son, Thomas Dolan; his two granddaughters; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Gerald Dibbern of Hanson, MA, Dorothy and Gordon Faust of Spencer, MA, Diane Soper of Hanson, MA; his nephews, James Dibbern, John Dibbern and Patrick Soper his nieces, Karen Sim and Tracy Stowbridge; his dear friend and caregiver, John Chesnulevich; and numerous friends and colleagues. SERVICES: There are no visiting hours. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, 1 Montgomery Ave, Nashua on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm. Interment prayers and burial will be private and held at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s memory can be made to The Salvation Army of Nashua, Emergency Disaster Services 1 Montgomery Ave, Nashua, NH. Michael asked anyone planning an expression of sympathy to assist with the annual Salvation Army Kettle Drive this year and into the future. In that spirit, the family will have a kettle set up at his memorial service on Sunday.
