John Morris

John A. Morris, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 5, 1935, in West Virginia, the son of Anthony and Mary (Chelbus) Morris. John courageously served his country in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict, and received the following decorations; Purple Heart, Good Conduct, Unit Presidential Citation, ROK Presidential Citation, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Distinguished S Medal, Expert Badge with Carbine Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar, Soldier's Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, and Bronze Star Commendation. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, the former Rosemary Berardi; three sons, Michael (Lynn) Morris of Boardman, Brian (Patricia) Berardi of Lakewood, and John A. Morris Jr. of Boardman; three grandchildren, Angela (Ken) Clunk of Lakewood, Nicholas Berardi of Dayton, and Vincent Berardi, U.S.A.F., stationed in Europe; two great-grandchildren, Coraline Clunk, and Evelyn Clunk; four sisters, Dorothy Bates, Patricia Thompson, Sonya Casey, and Cathy Stephenson; and brother, Nicholas Kremin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Paul Morris. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., followed by a 5 p.m. prayer service, on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
