Lloyd L. Love, age 93, died 8/24/2016. Born in Kentucky, reared in Illinois, he was a senior member of New Hope Community Church in Brentwood. Preceded in death by parents, G.E. and Anna Mae Love, both brothers, H.G. Love, Winterhaven, FL, R.D. Love, Worth, Illinois and loving wife of 57 years, Helen Metz Love. Survived by son, Rhett (Martha) Love, Bellevue, daughter, Lyn Love, Brentwood, grandchildren Ryan Horn, Erwin, TN, Justin (Alecia) Horn, Blountville, TN, Katie Love Horn, Nashville, and twin great-grandsons, Bennett and Garrett Horn. Lloyd served his country on two classified programs as a dual-rated pilot, flight engineer and flight instructor on the B-29 Superfortress from 1942-1947 in WWII in the South Pacific, and as Chief Industrial Relations in the Martin-Denver Titan ICBM underground missile defense program from 1959-1964, during the Cold War. Lloyd graduated with a B.S. in Airport Management from Denver University. He retired from the Metro Airport Authority in 1988. He was a kind and gracious gentleman who loved his family, his church and his country. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
