Doris Jean Mardis

Doris Jean Mardis 85, of Richmond, died Friday, February 14, 2020. She was born July 28, 1934, in Trenton, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert and Mamie Wallace Hodo. Her marriage to Marion Mardis was January 25, 1952 in Detroit. Marion passed away January 27, 2007 after 55 wonderful years of marriage. Doris graduated high school in 1952 from Southeastern High in Detroit. She worked as a nurses aid for 18 1/2 years at River District Hospital, St. Clair and retired in 1993. Doris was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Port Huron and enjoyed gardening and crafts. Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Renée Mardis of Richmond and two daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Jerry Ureel of Marysville and Diana Hendricks of Richmond; her grandchildren, Michael, Bethany, Matthew, Lindsay, David, Katie and Jeff Jr.; great-grandchildren Tevin, Morgan, Taylor, Matthew, Emma-Leigh, Addison, Abby, Josiah, Caleb, Blake, and Lucus; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by son-in-law, Jeff Hendricks, and two sisters and one brother. Her family honors the memory of Doris and invites you to visit and share Monday, February, 17, 2020, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Funeral services will be Monday at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Darwin Reeves, pastor of Fellowship Bible Church, Fort Gratiot, will officiate. Memorials are suggested to “Fellowship Bible Church, Fort Gratiot.”
