Judith Barnicle

Judith Marie Barnicle of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, was born Thursday, May 31, 1945 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Luther and Eva (Nee: Chronister) Chitwood. She left from this life on Friday, February 14, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 74. Judy met the love of her life, Barney Barnicle, in 1968. They married April 18, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union one daughter, Jody was born. They were happily married nearly thirty-three years when Barney passed away of leukemia in 2003. Judy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, step grandmother, step great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Luther and Eva Chitwood; husband Barney Barnicle; sister Barb Wisecarver; four-legged child Penny and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving daughter Jody and husband Terry Green of Springfield, Missouri; sister Janet and husband Bob Ruder of Indiana; two step daughters Linda Bone of Arnold, Missouri, Rhonda and husband Paul Wipf of Texas; one granddaughter; six step grandchildren; six great step grandchildren; four legged child Copper (that she loved very much) and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba. Special recorded music will be “In the Garden”, “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace”. Interment and prayers will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cuba Animal Shelter in Judy’s memory. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Judy’s family.
