Memorial services for Linda Diane Cato, age 72, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Chaney officiating. Ms. Cato passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020, at her residence. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Kennedy (Billy Stroud) of Roanoke; son, Leroy Smith (April Richardson) of Roanoke; grandchildren, B.J. Moore (April), Jason Moore, Josh Moore (Jessica), Joseph Dison, Johnathan Dison, Justin Stroud (Anna), Candice Bishop, Chase Richardson, and Brooke Richardson and 8 great-grandchildren. A Roanoke resident, Ms. Cato was born on October 15, 1947, the daughter of Jessie Virgil and Bernice Booker Daniel. She worked as a winder for Milliken and Wehadkee Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Teresa Moore; and her brother, Virgil Daniel, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the family.
