Norman Inkpen

Norman A. Inkpen Sr., 96, of Quakertown, and formerly of Pennsburg and Bound Brook, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice May (Andreasen) Inkpen. Born and raised in Haverhill, MA, he was a son of the late Percy and Lucinda (Duchemin) Inkpen. He served his country honorably in the Army during WW II. A graduate of the Lowell Textile Institute, he was a textile chemist at the former American Cyanamid Company in Bridgewater, NJ, until retiring. He was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bound Brook, NJ, where he was a church elder and choir member. In Recent years, he was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg. He was also a former member of the Bound Brook, NJ, Board of Education, and the American Textile Chemists' Society. Surviving with his wife is a son, Norman Jr. and his wife Joy Abbott Inkpen of Quakertown; and daughters, Lynn, wife of James Hutcheson, of Surf City, NJ; Jill, wife of Alan Zabowski, of Milford, NJ, and Marylou, wife of Craig Jung, of Fredericksburg, VA; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Services: A viewing will be held from 5-8 pm on Sunday and from 9-10 am on Monday at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main St., Pennsburg. His funeral service will begin at 10 am on Monday. Interment will follow the service in St. Mark's Cemetery, Pennsburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 81 Main St, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
