Norma Crutchfield Obituary

Norma Beck Crutchfield, 86, entered her Heavenly home on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Born September 28, 1933, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late David Eugene Beck and the late Anne Hamrick Beck. She attended Carrollton High School, and was a member of Derma Baptist Church. On May 20, 1950, she married Jimmie Crutchfield, and they spent 50 years together until his passing in 2000. She was a retired seamstress from Kellwood Corp after over 40 years, where she made many lifelong friends. Her life was filled with love and laughter surrounded by her family and friends. Mamaw, as she was affectionately called, loved cooking for her family, and Sunday lunch was her favorite. Her door was always open and the food was always plentiful. She brought us all together for every birthday, holiday, and Sunday lunch within memory. She had an unbelievable green thumb and could make just about anything grow. She loved her flowers and working in her garden and especially loved spoiling her beloved little dog. She never missed a shopping trip, and she cherished time spent with her family. She enjoyed reading her Bible and Sunday school literature. With her incredible sense of humor, she easily made friends anywhere she went. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Mamaw is with us today in our hearts. Words can’t express how much she meant to our family and how much we will miss her. Let us always remember her as the loving person she was. Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Crutchfield family. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Saturday from 12:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Bro. John Stewart will be officiating, with Bro. Jim Vance delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brooks Lucius, Carl Smith, Joseph Bevill, R.J. Rivera, Phil Lucius, and Chad Lucius. Norma is survived by her children, Faye Lucius of Derma, Calvin Crutchfield of Calhoun City, and Kenny (Mary Jane) Crutchfield of Big Creek; grandchildren Ginger (Carl) Smith of Calhoun City, Brooks Lucius ( Erica) of Derma, Crystal (Steven) Carlson of Big Creek; great grandchildren, Kelsey (Joseph) Bevill of Big Creek, Courtland Crutchfield, Will Carlson, Luke Carlson, Ian Carlson of Big Creek, Hannah Tipton and Sam Tipton of Derma; sister Virginia Costilow of Newton.
