Robert Eugene “Bubba” Winsett passed away February 13, 2020 at the age of 97. He was born on December 26, 1922 in McGhee, Arkansas to the late Edward W. and Harold Charles “Hallie” (Hamm) Winsett. Robert was married to Penny Winsett for 57 years, until her death in 2017. Bubba’s career was spent as a train engineer for the Missouri Pacific Railroad until his retirement. He had a deep interest in and love for trains all his life. Once retired, Robert spent a great amount of his time in service to his community at the Lake Village Food Panty and his church, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He is survived by a nephew, Harold Edward (Karen) Winsett, great nieces Tiffany Battershell and Torrie Winsett and many nieces and nephews he shared from the family of Penny. He lost his niece, Deann Jagger early in her life. She was the sister of Harold Edward. The family would like to extend deep gratitude to Santo Olivi. Santo was a great friend in the last years of Bubba’s life, spending time with him every day. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 5-6 pm with the Rosary following at 6 pm at Bishop-King Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 10 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Village, Arkansas with Father Stephen Hart officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village, Arkansas and St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
