Melody Schumann Johnston, 73, of Lake Lure, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Hospice House. A native of Potlach, ID, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Dorothy Davis Schumann. Melody was a retired nurse and a member of Fairfield Mountains Chapel. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 23 years, John “Jack” Johnston of the home; son, Todd Merrill of Asheville; daughter, Heather Boyd of Salisbury; two grandchildren; sisters Willa McAllister of Spokane, WA and Betty Jo Eddins of Camano Island, WA. Memorial services will be held 11AM Friday, April 21, 2017 at Fairfield Mountains Chapel with Rev. Everett Chapman officiating.September 23, 1943 - April 5, 201709/23/194304/05/2017
