Edgar Vaughn

Edgar S. Vaughn, 88, of Gettysburg, formerly of Shippensburg, passed away, Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in the Transitions Health Care of Gettysburg. Born September 5, 1929 in Chambersburg, Franklin County. Edgar was a son of the late Brooks E. and Margaret J. Holtry Vaughn. He was a member of the Mongul United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. Edgar retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg in 1989. He was a United States Army Veteran during the Korean War and served with the 82nd Airborne. Edgar graduated from the Shippensburg High School. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy L. Mowery Vaughn who passed away July 2, 2011, one son, Michael A. Vaughn who passed away February 9, 2017 and a brother, Glen R. Vaughn. He is survived by one son, Stanley E. Vaughn of Scotland, three grandchildren, Trevor Vaughn of Chambersburg, Chad Vaughn of Hagerstown and Stanley Vaughn of Shippensburg, six great- grandchildren and one sister, Wanda K. McNamara of Green Valley, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Remembrance Chapel, Shippensburg at 10 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. James O. Bolich. Burial will be held in the Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home remembrance chapel.
